Japanese Spear Rack

in collaboration with
Yann Giguére, Mokuchi

This specialty piece was made for use in an Owari Kan Ryu studio in Boston, MA. Owari Kan Ryu is a martial arts practice, utilizing eleven-foot, tapered spears. Made from solid cherry, this piece can hold ten spears. The design uses traditional Japanese joinery techniques that allow it to be knocked apart, moved, and later reassembled. It was designed and made in collaboration with Yann Giguére of Mokuchi studio.
